When I started law school, I never imagined that one of my biggest problems would be what writing instrument to use. Naturally, I started with my trusty Staples mechanical pencils. Alas, these did not do what I hoped, and I found the clickclickclick required to reveal more lead tiresome.
As I looked through my book bags, I found a TAMU-CC pen. This pen had a separate cap, and I do not like pens with a separate cap. I'm a retractable girl. Maybe it was nostalgia for my former home or maybe I was just in a hurry, I can't remember, but I grabbed the pen and went to class. These days it seems that I am always "going to class."
I loved the pen. It was smooth and made my handwriting look pretty. I found myself actually wanting to take notes and writing things that were in the book just to feel the pen glide across a piece of paper. It hit me that I had found the perfect pen. THEN...panic struck. I no longer lived in Corpus Christi or worked at TAMU-CC, so I could not get another of these pens. What would I do? Luckily, when TAMU-CC had these pens personalized, the word BIC imprinted on the cap could not be removed. I quickly headed to my nearest Dollar General and bought a pack of 8 BIC pens for $1.
Now my quest for note-taking is complete. I choose to not type in class because I would rather write. Yes, I must write long and lengthy entries for each of my courses, but now I look forward to doing it. My handwriting is damn pretty, and that works because so am I.
Thus, begins my love affair with the BIC.
